A Little Backstory...

It's not hard to imagine that someone studying English has a lot to say about books. In fact, I always had a lot to say about books; they are the most incredible forms of escapism and creation out there. 

 

When I reached university, I was reading some incredible texts, learning about revolutionary authors, and realising there is more theory behind taking apart a book than I ever realised. I loved studying with a passion and wanted a space to talk about the books I didn't have to write essays on. And that's when I started a tumblr blog under the name 'Another English Student'.

 

I felt like I was just adding my voice to the thousands already out there and the name of my blog reflected that. I wanted a space to talk but didn't know if I was worth listening to.

Over time that tumblr developed into a whole website and that name? Well, I outgrew it. 

​

Bookish Bedlam is a more grown up version of my previous blogs. Sure, we still talk about books, but I also write a series called The Graduate Diaries, focusing on the realities of life after graduation, and I'm a freelance writer, so get in touch if you want to collaborate or need some blogs written for your website!
